OG Anunoby

What a transformation from OG Anunoby, the next breakout star for the Toronto Raptors. His turnaround from a very impressive rookie, to an unfortunate sophomore, back to the ever-impressive player we see today has been outstanding. It’s a moment to cherish.

Anunoby has gone from a bit-part offensive player who struggled to be much other than someone who could cut to the rim and take spot-up three-pointers, to a player who can aggressively attack the rim off the dribble and hit contested threes to a high degree.

Over the last two games, Anunoby has averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, shooting 67-percent from the field and 62-percent from three in 34 minutes per game. Beyond the numbers, though, he’s consistently making plays as a defender while, generally, looking more in-tune on offense.

Losing Kawhi Leonard hurt, but having OG Anunoby step back into the role that he handled so well in his rookie season – with more emphasis on opening up his offensive skillset – makes it all a little easier to swallow.

It’s early days, but Anunoby is shooting at a 50-percent clip from three on a career-high 3.7 attempts per game. We are in safe hands, my friends. Rejoice.
