Siakam back in the scrums

It seems that Pascal Siakam has fully returned. Despite the late-game flop against the San Antonio Spurs, Siakam made his presence known in the game. The return was delightful, a reminder that Siakam was playing at an All-Star level before the injury.

What made Siakam’s return so great, though, was his return to media responsibilities. After the game versus the Spurs, Siakam got a great visit from an old friend:

Coming up on two years from the end-of-decade defining trade for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, it seems that there is no love lost between DeMar DeRozan and his former teammates. While DeRozan got the best of the Toronto Raptors on this visit (see, Chris Boucher’s obituary), DeRozan made sure to stop by to see some old faces.

The sheer joy that Siakam gets from seeing DeRozan is a solid reminder that gamesmanship goes beyond what happens on the court and teammates remain friends despite the business.

Plus, anytime we get to see Siakam so flustered that he can’t remember the question and he giggles like a schoolboy is a moment that we will always relish. See you next time, Derozan!

Kyle Lowry also had a bit of fun this week during a team scrum:

While we may never quite know who Lowry was impersonating, we are all here for it! Of course, people were attempting to guess: emphatic hockey pplayersand Tiger Woods were among the best guesses.

Perhaps the monotony of the scrum after a long career finally broke Lowry or perhaps he just was tired of the age-old “Next man up” nomenclature. Whatever the reasoning, I’d like to make a petition to legally force Lowry to continue answering all questions in this weird, huffing voice.

That would surely make this season a success, right?

Lastly, I’ll keep this brief, here’s Pascal Siakam on when betting on yourself backfires:

Go get your money, Norm!
