The Toronto Raptors had a marvellous month of January, accumulating wins and also seeing their full potential when everyone is healthy.

January in the NBA is widely known by players, fans, coaches, and experts as the dog days of the NBA season. The hype that was present at the beginning of the NBA season has faded, but the anticipation of the playoffs isn’t quite here yet. Teams struggle to stay focused game to game which could result in them slipping up and dropping games.

Well, it seems like the Toronto Raptors forgot to get that memo, as they have been exceptional to begin 2020. They started the month slow going 2-3 in their first five, but the dinos were able to turn it around. They rattled off ten straight wins to finish 12-3  in January.

Health has been a big factor in Toronto’s dominance this month. After entering January with a multitude of injuries to key players, the Raptors managed to get some of those pieces back. With players back healthy, Nick Nurse’s squad was able to regain their synergy from early in the year.

With January in the rearview mirror, what were some key takeaways for the month? Did we learn anything new about the Toronto Raptors? What player stood out from the rest of the pack?
