Rumour mill

First of all, can we kill the DeMar DeRozan to the Raptors conversations?

DeRozan is a son of the city, one of the greatest players in Toronto Raptors history, and a very good player. However, he is not the player the Toronto Raptors need – he just doesn’t fit the dynamic of the team.

The Raptors shoot threes and defend relentlessly. They excel in both. Unfortunately, DeRozan does not. So let’s kill the talk, for he will not make this team better. Sorry.

Another player who came up in conversation a few weeks ago was Andre Drummond, though he seems to have played himself out of a trade to a good team with some, well, terrible performances. He’s good against bad teams, he would immediately solve the Raptors rebounding problems, but maybe he isn’t the player they need.

Jrue Holiday is a name that crops up more often than not too. ESPN’s Zach Lowe named the Raptors as an ideal fit for Holiday but went on to say that acquiring him without giving up someone like OG Anunoby would be difficult.

The rumours surrounding this team are pretty threadbare, in all honesty. But, would the Raptors still be considered buyers?
