The Miami Heat made one of the biggest deals of the trade deadline, landing Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies. How does this trade affect the Toronto Raptors?

The trade deadline has come and gone, and the Toronto Raptors made the conscious decision to stand pat at the deadline. That’s a decision that the front office clearly felt confident in making – and it’s hard to really disagree with them.

After 52 games, the Raptors sit with an impressive record of 38-14, one win better off than they were at this point last year – a year where they possessed one of the best players on the planet in Kawhi Leonard.

That record hasn’t come easy, though. The Raptors have been plagued by injuries all season, with pretty much every player except Terence Davis having missed significant time this season. Still, through it all, the Raptors have been winning consistently. They sit second place in the Eastern Conference and have the third-best record in the NBA. Unbelievable.

While Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster felt more than confident in the roster, some teams around the NBA were looking to add some depth and talent ahead of the playoffs. Notably, one of the Toronto Raptors’ biggest rivals in the race for the second seed in the East, the Miami Heat, added to their already impressive roster.

At 34-17, the Miami Heat currently occupy the fourth seed in the East and are set to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2017-18 NBA season. How does adding Andre Iguodala help them and how does it impact the Raptors?
