The Toronto Raptors are the present toast of the NBA, winners of 15 straight games. Here are a few mind-blowing, statistical feats from the team’s current win streak.
The last time the Toronto Raptors lost a game was back on Jan. 12, to the San Antonio Spurs. Since then, it’s been nothing but wins for Nick Nurse’s squad. 15 up, 15 down. A victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday would see Toronto go an entire month without tasting defeat. Not bad for a team that was meant to, well, suck without Kawhi Leonard.
Along with cementing Nurse as the clear-cut favourite for the 2019-20 Coach of the Year Award, this recent run of victories serves as proof of just how good, nevermind deep, this Raptors team is. Virtually every player on the roster has missed significant time this season, yet, Toronto sits second in the Eastern Conference and feels like the only team with a real shot of catching the Milwaukee Bucks.
Terence Davis, Toronto’s latest undrafted gem, is the only player on the roster that has appeared in every game this season, everybody else has spent some amount of time with Toronto’s medical staff (Davis has as well I’m sure). Now feels like the right time to add “durable” to the rookie’s growing list of attractive features.
As good as Davis has been during Toronto’s win streak, the same can be said for everybody on the roster. This team doesn’t have a weak link at the moment which has it in a very enviable position with the all-star break right around the corner. Shockingly, the team’s record through 54 games is better than what it was a year ago – Kawhi who?
Now here are a few stats from the Raptors’ current win streak that are sure to blow your mind:
