The Toronto Raptors went almost a month without losing a game. Other than the franchise-best 15 wins in a row, what made this streak so impressive?
This season for the Toronto Raptors has been nothing short of spectacular. They’ve managed to overcome an endless cycle of injuries and have been at the top of the Eastern Conference all year. Two players and their coaching staff represented Canada’s team this past weekend at the All-Star Game in Chicago.
Oh, and they went on a 15-game winning streak which has all but solidified their spot at second in the conference.
Throughout that 15 game stretch, the Raptors showed what they can look like at their very best. Blowing teams out again and again. Whether it was at home, on the road, or the second half of a back-to-back, nothing could get in their way.
They still haven’t reached a fully healthy rotation, but they’re as close as they’ve been since the first week of the season.
The run started a game after Pascal Siakam returned from an 11 game absence. That almost makes things more impressive due to the fact they didn’t have the typical transitional period when bringing back such an important piece to their puzzle.
The streak was the second-longest so far this season and makes them one of only six teams in the past five seasons to win 15 or more games in a row.
Despite playing well before it, the franchise-best win streak forced the media to put some real respect on the Raptors’ name.
Everyone knows how many games they won, but what else do Raps fans need to know about this streak?
