Toronto Raptors: 5 Impactful Players From This Season
By Joseph Zita
3. Norman Powell – 26 years old – SF/SG
2019-20 stats – 44 GP – 16.4 PPG – 3.7 RPG – 1.8 APG – .502 FG% – .398 3P% – .838 FT%
At my number three spot I have Norman Powell, man what an up and down year for Norman Powell. For starters as we all know this was Norman Powell’s breakout year and unfortunately it was cut short multiple times due to injuries and ultimately COVID-19 in the beginning of March.
Powell’s impact on the floor was tremendous throughout this season when he was healthy, not only was he setting career high averages in points but also in minutes per game, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, and his field goal percentage too.
Nothing but amazing work on the floor from Norman Powell this season, it felt like every time he was getting hot on the court he went out with an injury but when he returns it’s like he never left and produced at the same rate from before his injury. If the NBA comes back for playoffs this year, Norman Powell will be such an important piece for this Toronto Raptors team if they want to go deep again. (Stats from NBA.com)
