Tier 4: Mavericks, Grizzlies, Nets, Magic

Finally, the quality of a tier that has gone down. The Dallas Mavericks are an anomaly in this group, they are way better than the other three teams here. So the Raptors would have to be unlucky to draw them. I think it’s clear that the Dallas Mavericks are a threat to the Raptors while the other three teams should not be a concern whatsoever.

Dallas Mavericks 

We all remember the Dallas Mavericks for the marvelous comeback the Raptors had against them. But remember that the Mavericks still had a 30 point lead (WITHOUT Dončić) against the Raptors by the third quarter. There’s a reason that the Dallas Mavericks have the best offense in the league.

There was also the first game, that did include Luka. The Raptors lost that game and Luka went to the line 19 times. They couldn’t contain him, and we have to ask ourselves what are the Raptors going to do to shut down such a player in two games.

Grizzlies, Nets, Magic

Games against the Memphis Grizzlies would definitely be fun so seeing them in the same group would be good for that reason. But that’s about it, no one wants to watch the Magic or the KD-less Nets. So for the purpose of fun, let’s hope they can be in the same group as the Grizzlies.
