NBA Scrimmage Grades: Raptors Sloppy in Loss to the Suns

B+. Nick Nurse has really used these scrimmages to explore and tinker with different lineup combinations and schemes. This game was no different where he went with the “Jumbo” lineup to start the game and the results were obviously mixed but the fact that he is trying is things is a great sign for the new playoffs schemes to come. Overall Nick did a solid job managing the minutes especially getting Marc Gasol the right amount of minutes and touches. The biggest problem Nick Nurse had was finding a bench lineup that would give him solid minutes. Unfortunately, the bench unit did not perform great and Nick really couldn’t find a combination that would change the tide of the game. As always coach Nurse was solid but his team really let him down in this one.. Head Coach. Toronto Raptors. NICK NURSE

13th. Western Conference. PHOENIX SUNS. A-. The Phoenix Suns played a pretty solid game against the defending champs. It all started with their pesky defense that forced the Raptors to make many mistakes and turn the ball over. The Suns also caught fire from deep as they shot 38 percent as a team in this game. With all three scrimmage games behind them, the Raptors can now look forward to the official restart of the NBA season and their 8 seeding games. The Raptors will play their first seeding game on Saturday, August 1st against the Los Angeles Lakers.
