Fred VanVleet is going to get paid this offseason

It seems like we’ve been saying this all year long, but it has to be said again. Fred VanVleet is going to get absolutely paid this offseason.

Through the Raptors’ first four games in Orlando, VanVleet has arguably been the team’s most consistent player. While Pascal Siakam has cooled off a bit as Toronto’s number one scorer, VanVleet and Kyle Lowry have become a one-two punch for the team’s primary scoring.

In addition, VanVleet has been the Raptors’ leading scorer in three of their four games thus far. In Toronto’s restart opener he dished out 11 assists, three shy of tying his career-high.

The most telling story is how flawless VanVleet has been with the ball as of late.

In the first two Toronto Raptors victories, he had a combined seven turnovers. However, in Toronto’s win over Orlando VanVleet had zero turnovers and just one turnover in the team’s loss to Boston.

VanVleet has thrived all year in Toronto’s dual point guard system. He’s able to score off the ball when Lowry is on the court and he can run point when his backcourt mate is on the bench.

Everyone knows Fred VanVleet’s story, but with the way he’s playing– been playing, it’s still mind-boggling to think he went undrafted. There are undoubtedly many teams that have watched VanVleet’s play this season and are salivating at the idea of trying to poach him away from the Raptors.
