Matt Thomas
Lastly, the sharpshooter Matt Thomas makes an entry onto this list. This may be a bit of a longshot, but Thomas has the ability to change a game with his shot, and Toronto saw the value in the 3 point shot with Marcus Smart in Game 2. Now it would be insane to think that Thomas could see extended minutes Thursday night, but imagine if he came on for a short stint and a couple of plays were run for him to find his long-distance shot. That could provide a Raptors team desperate for offence with a shot in the arm, and despite his weakness on defence, it may be a risk worth taking.
Overall, the Raptors are in full desperation mode, and although it’s the playoffs where rotations always shorten, the Raptors are too deep of a team to not get production from their backup unit. The Toronto Raptors bench is one of their best assets, and it’s time for them to play like it.
