Toronto Raptors: Raptors’ five worst draft picks all-time

4. Delon Wright – Point Guard 2015 selected 20th overall
The Toronto Raptors selected Delon Wright 20th overall at the 2015 NBA Draft. Less than four years later, right before the 2019 NBA Trade deadline, he was included in the Marc Gasol trade.
Delon Wright, at six feet five inches, is a big point guard who can defend. It was evident he was meant to be the heir apparent to Kyle Lowry at the point guard spot. However, Delon Wright had two major problems during his time in Toronto.
In three and a half seasons in Toronto, Delon Wright played in 172 games only. He could not stay on the court long enough to be consistent. He was a reluctant three-point shooter with a career average of 34.2 percent on long-range shots. His third problem was the rise of undrafted Fred VanVleet who is on the verge of a massive paid day this off-season.
Also, Norman Powell, a second round-pick in 2015 as well by Milwaukee, was acquired by the Toronto Raptors and has since signed a four-year extension to his rookie deal, outperforming his former draft class teammate Delon Wright.
