2. Toronto Raptors should do all it takes to keep OG Anunoby

Without giving up OG Anunoby, there is no world where this trade would work in favor of the Toronto Raptors. The Pelicans will expect a pretty decent return, and if they’re in talks with the Raptors you can be 100 percent certain Anunoby will be the first piece brought up. And if I’m Bobby Webster, that is where the phone call comes to a halt.

OG Anunoby is the perfect 3-and-D player every team dreams of having when building a team, and at only 23, there’s still lots of room for development on the offensive side. We’ve already seen some glimpses of improvement in the bubble, as he added a spin move, a nice pump fake, and improved handles.

Even though his spin did get predictable, it’s still a testament to his growth and the effect he wants to have on the offensive end. And we still haven’t even talked about his upside on defense. Nick Nurse using him as a center was eye-opening and something that worked tremendously for him.

The versatility and development Anunoby brings cannot be overlooked, and giving that up for someone who’s 8 years older with a clear ceiling is something the Raptors should not consider.
