The Toronto Raptors 2020 fan favourite was recently released by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was recently released by the Minnesota Timberwolves in a surprising move. Hollis-Jefferson had some fairly impressive pre-season performances including a 17-point outing against the Memphis Grizzlies. Nonetheless, the Timberwolves made the questionable decision to release the veteran swingman. The Toronto Raptors have to consider bringing him back for round two. Dearest Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster, bring our boy home.

The man we called “Hustle” was an instantaneous fan favourite of the Raptors faithful from his first few minutes of playing time. Hollis-Jefferson brings energy and effort on both sides of the floor; gaining the trust of Nick Nurse and the Toronto Raptors coaching staff quickly.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is a Swiss Army knife of a player and is comfortable in many positions on the floor. Hustle was put into many scenarios last season from the guard position to even playing the five in a small ball set. This is a guy who even got a few starts (as a result of the Toronto Raptors’ injury issues last season).

The Toronto Raptors are loaded at the guard position… and could be more loaded soon? Anyways, the frontcourt is looking like a sketchy proposition for this Raptors team as we speak. OG Anunoby looks poised for a breakout season, and Pascal Siakam seems to have found the fun in the game again. Other than the two starters at forward though, the depth at the position is a bit suspect.

Some may argue veteran swingman DeAndre’ Bembry was brought in to slide into that energy forward role. This is probably the case and Bembry is certainly a guy who Nurse will be able to trust on both sides of the ball. At the end of the day though, he’s a poor man’s Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

The Toronto Raptors bringing Hustle in would add some increased depth and energy to the forward position. There could be some serious bench mob vibes with Hollis-Jefferson in the mix and would add some serious fun to the Raptors roster.

Picture this lineup on the floor:

PG – Malachi Flynn

SG – Matt Thomas

SF – DeAndre’ Bembry

PF – Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

C – Chris Boucher

I mean how electric would this be? This would be a serious energy line and one that would certainly make Toronto Raptors fans miss a full Scotiabank Arena.

Your move Masai and Bobby.
