3 Under the Radar Trades the Toronto Raptors could make
By Hani Salehi
The Toronto Raptors might have to consider changing personnel on their team if the struggles continue.
After another heartbreaking loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the Toronto Raptors find themselves with a 1-5 record to start the season. This year the Raptors have been struggling on both ends of the floor and more importantly, they haven’t been able to find their identity as a team.
Though the defence has gotten better, the biggest concern with the Raptors is the offence and how abysmal they look; especially when players like Pascal Siakam and OG Annunoby are struggling to produce consistently.
The Toronto Raptors currently sit tied for 28th in offensive rating, 29th in field goal percentage, and 22nd in three-point percentage. These are not good numbers and Nick Nurse has desperately been tinkering with his lineups to find a group that can produce consistently on both ends of the floor.
Another big concern is the lack of consistent scoring and playmaking off the bench. The Raptors currently rank fourth last in bench points per game and dead last in assist per game. The few bright spots off the bench this season have been the emergence of Chris Boucher who has been fantastic, and on occasion Norman Powell.
Although it is early in the season and the Toronto Raptors can turn things around, it just seems like this team needs some sort of spark to get them going. Therefore, it might be time to look at some potential under-the-radar trade ideas that the Raptors can make right now to spark their team.
