Norman Powell – SG

It has been a tough season for Norman Powell. The founding father of this year’s bench sob – Powell has failed to gain any sort of momentum this season.

Much like Aron Baynes, hopes were high for Powell this year after a career 2020 campaign. A guy that looked like he could be competing for the Sixth Man of the Year award is now playing restricted minutes after being called out by Nick Nurse a number of times.

Powell would be a valuable asset in any trade talks as a guy that could bring the energy off the bench or perhaps even starting in a better situation.

A great contract for any interested team at around $11 million/year with two seasons (including this year) left on his deal.

Of all the players mentioned today, the Toronto Raptors may be most inclined to keep Powell because of any combination of his age, remaining term, or value of contract. Those are also all valid reasons he would be intriguing to any interested organization.

Powell may not bring in a ton of assets by himself, but he would be a coveted piece in a potential package deal to land a top-end talent or higher value pieces. Look for Powell to be the first to go if Masai starts wheeling and dealing.
