Raptors: Chris Bosh releasing book detailing life leading up to Toronto stardom
By Mike Luciano
Toronto Raptors legend Chris Bosh might’ve really established himself as a Hall of Famer with the Miami Heat, but he remains a beloved figure north of the border for his competitive desire on the court and cheerful attitude off of it.
Raptors fans interested in learning more about how Bosh went from a stringy high-schooler in Dallas to one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history could finally have their thirsts quenched, as Bosh is releasing a memoir that details his improbable rise to the top of the NBA mountain.
Bosh is releasing a book, titled Letters to a Young Athlete, which he claims will detail “the things that have helped me in my journey as an athlete and a person.” This tome may be of particular interest to Raptors fans, as he could go in-depth about his time in Toronto during the early stages of his career.

Toronto Raptors fans can get an in-depth look at Chris Bosh
Bosh, who was picked fourth overall out of Georgia Tech in the 2003 NBA Draft, established himself as a Hall of Famer player in Canada just like classmates LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwyane Wade did for their respective franchises. Bosh averaged 20.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in seven seasons as a Raptor before making the move to the Heat.
On an episode of the “All The Smoke” podcast, Bosh claims that he “wanted to stay loyal” to Toronto, but the opportunity to win now with LeBron and Wade in Miami lured him away from Jay Triano and the Raptors. Despite the unceremonious exit, Bosh is one of only three players to score 10,000 points with Toronto, joining DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry.
As amazing and revolutionary as Vince Carter was, it was Bosh who was in Toronto when they started to become a perennial playoff team, and learning what helped him become such a pivotal figure in the history of the Raptors and Canadian basketball as a whole is worth checking out no matter how big a fan you are.
While Bosh didn’t finish his career in Toronto, and his NBA legacy may end up being more closely associated with what he did in Miami, No. 4 remains one of the greatest players to ever don the Raptors uniform, and his book could provide another peek behind the curtain with regards to his thoughts on the franchise.
