No.4: Kyle Lowry vs Orlando Magic (Feb 2nd, 2021)

Fresh off of a victory against the same Orlando team just 48 hours prior, the Raptors looked to continue their recent dominance against the Magic in the second leg of the season series.  Most fans will remember this game as the night VanVleet broke the franchise record, and rightly so. What goes under the radar from this game though is that Lowry had his best all-around game.

Lowry is Toronto’s leader for several reasons, but one of the biggest things he does for this team is recognizing exactly who is feeling it on that specific night and putting them in the best position possible to succeed. On a night where VanVleet was going ballistic, Lowry sat back and allowed for Fred to steal the show.

Lowry was a facilitator for the Raptors

Don’t get it confused though, Lowry wasn’t a passenger in this game. Despite letting Fred take the spotlight, Lowry sneakily posted his 17th triple-double of his career, with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, collecting 4 steals in the process.

Admittedly the numbers aren’t the flashiest, but Lowry’s ability to pick his spots and remain effective when his backcourt teammate is having a career night is admirable and contributed to the most underrated Raptors performance so far this season.
