No. 2: OG Anunoby vs Indiana Pacers (Jan 24th, 2021)

Anunoby isn’t typically known for filling the stat sheet. The London-born forward is at his best when he’s on the defensive end of the floor; locking up stars and playing excellent team defense. With that said, OG’s offensive game has grown since his rookie year, and he’s proven on multiple occasions that he can make big shots when it matters.

On the first night of a back-to-back in Indiana, the Toronto Raptors snuck out a 107-102 victory against a true measuring stick opponent in the Eastern Conference. Compared to most of their other results this season, this game was a low-scoring one, and it was the type of grind-it-out basketball game that can create an unlikely hero.

Anunoby impressed for the Raptors against Indiana

OG had his best game of the season against the Pacers, scoring 30 points alongside 8 rebounds and five steals. He shot an efficient 9-16 and made 4 threes. On a night where the Raptors were without both Siakam and Lowry, Anunoby took charge at both ends of the floor, and didn’t sacrifice his defensive contribution for offensive numbers.

In 40 minutes of action, OG completely changed the game and made several big plays in the fourth to secure the win. Without a doubt, this was the OG Anunoby statement game.
