Raptors trade partner No. 1: Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks already checked off two of the hardest boxes to check in terms of roster construction. Not only did the Mavericks draft a potential generational star in Luka Doncic, they also managed to get him a second star in Kristaps Porzingis. Despite those two, Dallas might need one or two more studs to support their Eastern European star duo.

The Mavericks could be interested in Powell or Lowry, as both of them could either get point guard Luka another target for kick-outs or a veteran point guard that can ease some of the offensive burden that Rick Carlisle has placed on him.

What could Dallas give the Toronto Raptors?

Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Brunson, and Josh Richardson are all averaging over 12 points per game, but none of them are guaranteed spots in Dallas long-term. Josh Green is an intriguing first-round pick, but he could end up in Toronto if it means one of the two Raptors stars ends up with the Mavericks.

The Mavericks traded away a lot of draft capital to get Porzingis, but the notoriously risky Mark Cuban will likely have no qualms about trading picks like that if it means his Mavericks can contend once again. Powell and Lowry could compete for a title as the third scoring option behind Doncic and Porzingis in Dallas.
