Raptors target No 2. Alize Johnson

As far as earning himself an NBA opportunity is concerned, Alize Johnson is making all the right moves. After a stellar bubble stint with Raptors 905 that saw the power forward earn G League Second Team honors, Johnson was curiously snubbed by the big club and, instead, landed with the division rival Brooklyn Nets on a 10-day contract.

In his very first game with Brooklyn, the 24-year-old took full advantage of opportunities provided by a lopsided blowout loss, posting 23 points on 11-15 shooting and 15 rebounds for a club that was down Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Blake Griffin.

The Nets can reportedly convert Johnson to a two-way deal and, thus, keep him for the remainder of the season, but they also may prefer to remain flexible given their ability to provide an attractive buyout destination.

If Johnson becomes available once again, he might find himself in greater demand, but the organizational familiarity factor could help sway things in favor of the Raptors. He would get the chance to once again play alongside 905 teammate and fellow Second Team member Malachi Flynn.
