Gonzaga: SF Corey Kispert

Mark Few’s best prospect this season is point guard Jalen Suggs, but the Raptors won’t have the same lottery odds as some of the rest of the NBA’s bottom-feeders, making the path towards landing him very difficult. If Toronto ends up in the middle of the lottery, a player like Kispert makes a ton of sense.

Kispert will assuredly be picked in the lottery next year. He’s just too good of a shooter to make it out of the first 14 picks. While he isn’t the best athlete in the world, Kispert is the dictionary definition of a 3-and-D wing given what he has accomplished this season.

Raptors draft: Corey Kispert provides great shooting

Kispert, despite sharing the floor with Suggs and Drew Timme, is often the engine that makes the Zags run on offense. His sweet shooting is paired with high defensive IQ, solid passing and the ability to create his own shot off of the dribble, which is very impressive for a wing player his size.

Alongside players like VanVleet and OG Anunoby in the backcourt, Kispert’s shooting and defensive intensity could help replace Norman Powell as the team’s preferred marksman from deep. With any other GM with half a brain interested in him, Toronto needs to act fast, as they will not get a chance to scoop him up if they don’t get one of the Top 10 selections.
