Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. SG. G League Ignite. player. 38. Jalen Green. 4

The Magic might’ve traded away Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, and Evan Fournier, but this is far from a complete teardown. Cole Anthony is healthy, and both Markelle Fultz and Jonathan Issac are on the mend. They need that one transcendent scorer, and Green gave every indication he could be that type of guy.

Green needs work on the defensive end, but he is a pure scorer with ball-handling ability, a lethal jumper, and a willingness to penetrate to the rim. Not starting as a rookie would be horrendous, as his offensive ceiling is through the roof. Alongside Anthony, Fultz, Isaac, and Wendell Carter, Green could lead what becomes a very intriguing young Orlando core.

SF/PF. G League Ignite. 156. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Jonathan Kuminga. 5. player

The Cavaliers appear to have a backcourt of the future in Darius Garland and Collin Sexton to go along with a long-term center in Jarrett Allem, but this is the worst offensive team in the league, and they need that über-athlete who can be a threat in transition. Kuminga continued to show his two-way potential and killer mid-range game in the G League bubble.

Kuminga might be the best pure athlete in this draft class, but his offensive ceiling will be determined by how well he improves his jump shot. If he manages to do that, Cleveland might be able to return to the playoffs sooner rather than later, with Kuminga himself leading the charge on the offensive end.

Pick Analysis. 6. 142. Scouting Report. PF. Duke. Jalen Johnson. player

Johnson’s opt-out has done little to impact his stock, as he is taking advantage of a draft that is shot on quality players that can play the power forward position. Johnson makes his name on defense, interior scoring, and ball-handling that makes him a true matchup nightmare. Washington needs some size, and Johnson can provide that.

Bradley Beal is still technically a member of the Wizards, and the Beal-Russell Westbrook combination could be worth watching next season. Johnson gives them a presence inside, and the combination of the former Duke star and Deni Avdija gives Washington a quality foundation for the future.
