Toronto Raptors draft: 4 Pac-12 prospects that Toronto could pick in the 2021 NBA Draft
By Mike Luciano
Mobley is the big prize for the Raptors in this draft. While somehow stumbling into a top pick could give the Raptors a shot at Cade Cunningham or Jalen Suggs, Mobley might be the best fit, as he could plug the hole at center in emphatic fashion.
Averages of 16.4 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game are nice. Leading the Trojans to the Elite Eight is even nicer. Doing so while showing off an uncommon blend of speed, ball-handling, and rim protection in a 7-0 package is astonishing, and the Raptors should sprint up to the podium if he is on the board when they pick.
How would Evan Mobley help the Toronto Raptors?
With Aron Baynes likely coming off of the books, the Raptors, should they choose not to use the potential cap space that Kyle Lowry could create for them, could end up taking Mobley and making him an instant starter. His two-way potential could make him an All-Star candidate out of the gate.
Mobley needs to keep working on his jump shot, and he needs to add strength, but that is no reason to potentially pass him up if Toronto ends up with a top-three pick. Mobley will start right away and instantly become a secondary or tertiary scorer with the Raptors, making him the clear-cut best Pac-12 prospect this year.
