This season has been tough for Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam. In addition to critics overlooking his quality play on the court, he and the rest of his team have been dislodged from their Toronto home. Despite all of that, Siakam has made sure that everyone in his inner circle is taken care of amid the pandemic.

The Raptors had a few different celebrations and well-wishes planned for Mother’s Day yesterday, but Siakam unequivocally stole the show and topped all the others. A box of chocolates or dinner at a fancy restaurant is one thing, but Siakam upped the stakes with a very heartwarming gesture.

Siakam thanked his mom for her unconditional love and support after the passing of his father, and confirmed that he did indeed buy a house they were looking at for them. Their reaction says it all, as Siakam’s charitable heart was on full display once again.

“Happy birthday and happy Mother’s Day to the Queen herself,” Siakam wrote on an Instagram post chronicling the big reveal. “Thank you for always being there for all of us and being the super mom you are.”

Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam gave back to his mom.

Siakam’s father, former Makenene mayor Tchamo Siakam, passed away in 2014 in a car crash. Victorie has done an amazing job raising her four boys. In addition to Pascal becoming a legitimate star after his college career at New Mexico State, brothers Boris, Christian, and James all played D-I ball at Western Kentucky, IUPUI, and Vanderbilt.

Siakam was able to buy this house on the back of nothing more than old-fashioned elbow grease and a relentless desire to improve. After dominating Las Cruces and somehow getting picked in the first round from those humble beginnings, Siakam went from a G League player to one of the most unique offensive talents in the game.

Siakam could help take care of his family and friends with his rookie contract, but a four-year, $136 million deal that makes him a fixture in Toronto gives him the means in order to make sure that everyone who helped him along this journey is financially secure.

Siakam made himself a pretty penny in his $30 million-$37 million per year contract, but he’s making sure that Mom is taken care of before he gets sorted out. Siakam is getting in the spirit of the holiday, and the Siakams will be living large for a considerable while after this thanks to Pascal being so altruistic.
