Jonathan Kuminga. 5. 156. G League Ignite. SF/PF. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Kuminga is another top prospect who eschewed college basketball for the G League ranks. While he didn’t score as efficiently as Green did, he proved that he is still worthy of a pick this high due to his boundless athleticism.

Kuminga has some serious shooting concerns that could make Cleveland a bit hesitant, but he is the best athlete in this class, as he will pulverize the rim, run the floor with his blazing speed, and create offense for himself due to his short-area quickness.

The Cavaliers have the Collin Sexton/Darius Garland backcourt combination and a center in Jarrett Allen that can make things happen, but they still need someone like Kuminga to take over the PF spot. A Sexton-Garland-Isaac Okoro-Kuminga-Allen lineup sounds nice.

PF. Duke. 6. 41. Jalen Johnson. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After taking control of this pick from Minnesota, Golden State decides to add a potential successor to Draymond Green by taking Johnson. His opt-out at Duke did little to impact his draft stock.

Johnson hasn’t shown tons of comfort with regards to pulling up consistently and using his jumper as a weapon, but a power forward with his athleticism, quickness, and soft touch inside is an incredibly rare commodity.

The Splash Brothers will hold up the backcourt as long as they can, but they need to eventually replace Green with someone that has a higher ceiling. Johnson and James Wiseman might be the frontcourt of the future in San Francisco.
