Pick Analysis. Keon Johnson. 7. player. Scouting Report. SG. Tennessee. 81

The Raptors need to nail this pick to get back to the postseason, and they’re choosing to bet on upside by selecting Johnson. If Nick Nurse develops him well, Johnson will undoubtedly be a cornerstone for the future.

Johnson is a very raw player right now, as his jump shot and playmaking skills are lacking. However, he is an A+ athlete that will make your jaw hit the floor. With tough defense on the perimeter mixed in, Johnson’s ceiling is through the roof.

Johnson won’t have to start right away if Toronto brings back Gary Trent Jr. at shooting guard, but an athlete with this kind of hops would make an ideal sixth man in 2021. If he fixes his shooting woes, the Raptors will have their next star shooting guard.

PF/PG. 8. player. 38. Scouting Report. Florida State. Scottie Barnes. Pick Analysis

With the Chicago pick, the Magic can afford to take a bit of a gamble on athletic ability and untapped potential. While he didn’t have the best season at Florida State, Barnes’ ability is so enticing that he is still regarded as a top prospect.

Barnes is a complete positional question mark. Is he a bigger point guard? A traditional power forward? Who knows, and who cares? Barnes can handle the ball, attack the rim, and defend the perimeter at 6-9 and 220 pounds.

Barnes might seem a bit redundant due to the presence of another Seminole in Jonathan Isaac, but Barnes has greater offensive potential, and him working in tandem with Green could make Orlando must-see TV in short order.
