2. Evan Fournier, SG, Boston Celtics

Fournier has spent the better part of his career as one of the more underrated players in the league at his position. His best scoring years were spent on some bad Orlando teams, and he accepted a reduced role in Boston’s unsuccessful quest to overcome the loss of Jaylen Brown and win some playoff games.

Since 2014, Fournier has averaged 16.1 points per game, with a 45% shooting percentage and 38% success rate from the 3-point line. Fournier might’ve been inconsistent in Boston, but if Toronto is paying for the Fournier we saw with the Magic, we might have a new Sixth Man of the Year frontrunner.

Evan Fournier is a quality veteran who could score off of the bench.

Considering that Gary Trent Jr. and his contract situation are still up in the air right now, the Raptors need to identify alternatives that they could bring in if Trent signs an offer sheet that they simply can’t match. Fournier could provide that, as we have nearly a decade of evidence that proves he can pile up the points in a hurry.

Fournier’s contract might not be too far off from Trent’s deal, as he is only 29 years old. Imagine going from a bench that was forced to put players like Stanley Johnson on the floor for significant minutes last year to one led by Fournier, who can hit 10 points a game with his eyes closed.
