3. Toronto Raptors vs Orlando Magic (October 29)

It’s been nearly a month since the 2021 NBA Draft, where the Raptors selected Scottie Barnes with the fourth pick. Most Raptors fans liked what they saw from Barnes during Summer League play, and the excitement to watch him this season is palpable.

But many Raptors fans were surprised with the selection a month ago because Jalen Suggs was still available, and Suggs appeared to be the consensus favorite for that spot.

Fans like myself initially wanted Suggs because of how well he played during March Madness, but Barnes is also a quality prospect with a long future in this game.

One of the reasons Toronto picked him instead of Suggs is because of how Barnes can play multiple positions. His versatility and adapting to different positions gave him the edge.

Suggs was quoted saying that he’ll make the teams who didn’t pick him earlier, of which the Raptors were one, pay. Well, he’ll get his chance to show Toronto what he’s got.

The gloves are off. These two players will be intertwined together forever, and it’s time to see who will get the edge in their first of which should be many meetings for the next decade.

This will probably be the only time to get excited for an Orlando Magic game since they are not trying to go to the playoffs this season. If Barnes comes out on top, a win against Orlando will be one of the sweetest hypothetical victories the Raptors could pick up all year.
