2. OG Anunoby

Despite the perpetual injuries, OG Anunoby continues to show tangible improvement every season. It’s amazing the injuries haven’t stopped Anunoby from getting a little better each year. Anunoby vs Trent for the MIP could be more entertaining than the Serge Ibaka and Anunoby scarf battle.

Anunoby, like VanVleet, should also benefit from the defensive rule changes. If healthy all season, I think Anunoby could make the All-Defensive Second Team, at minimum. Kawhi Leonard, who made the team last season, is hurt, so this year it will be easier for other forwards to make the team.

OG Anunoby’s defense may get the recognition it deserves.

Anunoby can defend anyone, never taking plays off. An All-Defensive Second Team selection, his play could warrant the First-Team nod. You can count on one hand the number of players that get assigned the same defensive responsibility he does on a nightly basis.

Anunoby should also keep improving his offensive game. It would be nice to see him score off the dribble a little bit more this season. He’s already become a solid spot-up and catch-and-shoot option from behind the 3-point line, and taking that one big step as a creator on offense could unlock his true star potential.
