Toronto Raptors: 3 most untradeable players on the current roster
By Mike Luciano
2. SF OG Anunoby
Anunoby continues to set the stage for what should be the best season of his career. While he had his best offensive season by leaps and bounds last season, injuries and Toronto’s poor performance in the win-loss column prevented the larger NBA world from finding out about his improvements on both ends.
Anunoby’s four-year, $72 million deal is scheduled to kick in this season, and while 15.9 points per game may not sound like the scoring average of someone that is bequeathed that much money, his defensive skills and improving 3-pointer, which he now shoots at a 40% clip, justify the deal.
OG Anunoby is a vital part of the next few seasons.
Still just 24 years old and getting better with every passing week, the Raptors need to do everything in their power to keep Anunoby in town. He fits their timeline, has legit All-Defensive Team potential, and could have his best offensive season without Lowry in the backcourt.
Even if the Raptors adapt that aforementioned strategy of trading for a superstar, they should try to keep Anunoby in red and black, as it’s hard to find someone with his combination of skills at just 24 years old. Expect Anunoby to play most of the next decade in Toronto.
