1. The Architect, Masai Ujiri is back in the Toronto fold.

The success the Raptors’ franchise and fanbase enjoyed from 2013-2020 was constructed and assembled primarily by one man. That man is Masai Ujiri.

While scouts, coaches, assistants, and the players themselves share in that success, it all came together under Ujiri’s vision. The Raptors have never before had a sustained run of successful seasons like that era culminated by a 2019 NBA Title and five consecutive 50-plus win seasons.

Ujiri has a calming influence on the franchise and fanbase where most of the time he makes such great decisions and transactions that nobody worries too much about the team’s direction because it’s in good hands.

The fanbase did have a scare as a long-considered extension for the franchise’s best executive had gone unsigned. It left those who swear by Ujiri’s choices nervous about the team’s future, especially when the matter dragged on into the draft.

Masai Ujiri is linked to Toronto for the foreseeable future.

Ujiri is believed to be getting $15 million a year for an undisclosed number of years. In his own words, he claims the new deal in Toronto is “Forever.”

The fanbase is relieved he is back and ready to follow him and their beloved Raptors on a journey that hopefully leads back to the NBA Championship.

In Ujiri we trust.
