4. Kyle Lowry is still connected to the team

Lowry’s departure from Miami may have been expected given all of the writing that was on the wall and the Heat’s upward trajectory, but that doesn’t mean that he has left Toronto to fend for themselves. The players are still in touch with their veteran mentor and old friend, at least according to VanVleet.

FVV stated that he and Lowry are still in regular contact, a sign that despite a challenging season in which he must take over No. 7’s old role, VanVleet has some tremendous support in his corner. Even in Miami, Lowry is giving Toronto a calming presence and stability.

Lowry reciprocated the love, calling VanVleet his “little brother” while mentioning that he stayed close with both him and DeMar DeRozan with the aim of supporting them in all of their future endeavors.

While Lowry might come to Scotiabank Arena as a visitor next year, but he is undoubtedly going to get some of the most raucous cheers anyone has ever heard in that building. Considering all that he has brought to the franchise, and how he’s still helping them today, he deserves every second of praise.
