Raptors Game Today: Raptors vs 76ers Odds, Prediction, Pick, TV for Oct. 4
By Mike Luciano
The Toronto Raptors are finally geared up to make their triumphant return to Canada and contend for a postseason spot in the 2021-22 NBA season, even though the latest Raptors odds might not be as bullish on the group in what will be their first season without Kyle Lowry.
Their first step in defying the haters will be their preseason opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, as Nick Nurse will try to knock one of their division rivals down a peg while unveiling their new look on both sides of the ball.
As part of their retooling, Masai Ujiri revamped this roster with an emphasis on perimeter defense, length, and versatility. We’ll start to get the first glimpse of this style, as well as a sneak peek at new additions like Scottie Barnes and Precious Achiuwa.
Will the Raptors be able to take down the 76ers and start to show that they can win some games this year? Or will they struggle out of the game, proving that this team will need to endure some growing pains?
Raptors vs 76ers Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick
The latest odds from WynnBet have the 76ers as -1.5 favorites against the spread, with Philadelphia -115 (bet $115 to win $100) to cover and Toronto at -105 to do the same. The Sixers are -105 on the moneyline, while Toronto checks in at -115.
The over-under in this contest is 216.5 points, with both the over and under checking in at -110. With the somewhat random nature of preseason games, it sounds like Las Vegas is banking on a close, high-scoring affair.
Still, given how rusty these teams may be and their respective defensive skills, the under looks like a solid bet here.
Raptors vs 76ers Prediction
The 76ers might not put some of their heavy-hitters out on the floor, but that shouldn’t change the fact that young players like Tyrese Maxey and top draft pick Jaden Springer could take this game over.
Toronto, however, has the advantage of playing at home for the first time in almost two years. That advantage coupled with a handful of young players starting to prove their worth should give them a win in this contest.
