Stock Up: Svi Mykhailiuk

Mykhailiuk came to the Raptors as an intriguing bench piece that could provide some shooting on a team that is lacking a tremendous collection of outside scoring at the moment. Mykhailiuk looks ready to be a major rotation contributor based on the performances he had against Philly.

The Ukrainian shooter and former Kansas star put up 13 points on 4-9 shooting with four boards and five assists in the Monday win. Against Philly on Thursday? Try 11 points on 5-7 shooting in just 19 minutes. He might not be a great defender right now, but his offensive game will translate to Toronto’s system.

Svi Mykhailiuk is impressing the Toronto Raptors.

Mykhailiuk is not just hanging around the 3-point line, as he has uncorked a very intriguing bag of dribble moves, odd angles at which he can score, and shot-creation skills. His offensive prowess was overshadowed by playing on some bad Thunder and Pistons teams over the last few years.

Mykhailiuk might have been a late addition to the squad, but he’s proving to have shown some real quality on offense. If Toronto wants a rotation that goes nine or ten players deep consistently, look for Mykhailiuk to be a major part of the bench unit.
