Stock Down: Malachi Flynn

While Flynn faced more competition for minutes heading into the season due to the addition of Goran Dragic, he still was projected to be a breakout candidate. Not only has Flynn fallen far behind the veteran in the pecking order, but he’s being usurped by rookie Dalano Banton.

While Rexdale’s finest has played in all three games, Flynn played in just three garbage-time minutes against the Wizards and didn’t get off the bench in the Boston win or Dallas loss. Flynn has been relegated to a benchwarmer, which is disheartening considering how last season ended.

Malachi Flynn isn’t getting on the floor for the Toronto Raptors.

Flynn was once named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month, but he has very little to show for his pro career since then. It remains to be seen if this is a result of Flynn not meshing with this new style or Nurse simply prefers other options like Banton over him.

Flynn was picked just two selections before Tyrell Terry, and the Mavericks already cut him loose. When you’re picked that late, nothing is guaranteed. Flynn needs to hope someone ahead of him slips up or Nurse has a change of heart, because all of his offseason mojo has evaporated away.
