1. Washington Wizards

Assets: Deni Avdija, Davis Bertans, Aaron Holiday, first-round picks in 2022, 2025

Just a few months after trading away Russell Westbrook and getting a boatload of complementary pieces in exchange, Washington is right near the top of the Eastern Conference. Barring a catastrophic capitulation, the surprisingly quality Wizards should be in buyer territory at the deadline.

The Wizards have a solid point guard in Spencer Dinwiddie, but their backups are Raul Neto and Aaron Holiday. They have enough tradeable assets that are getting squeezed out of minutes by veterans like Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to get a mutually beneficial deal done.

The Washington Wizards could take Goran Dragic from the Toronto Raptors.

Bertans has a big contract that could help the money match up, and his combination of height and shooting might be enough to convince Washington to flip him. While Rui Hachimura looks like a part of the future, the Wizards could be less inclined to hold on to Avdija.

Washington might need to win a few more big games before they can be firmly placed in the championship contender tier, but if they continue to show that Wes Unseld Jr. is capable of piling up wins, they could supplement their offense by adding Dragic.
