What will the ideal Raptors rotation look like when everyone is healthy?
By Mike Luciano
Wings and Forwards
- OG Anunoby: 32 minutes
- Scottie Barnes: 31 minutes
- Yuta Watanabe: 13 minutes
- Svi Mykhailiuk: 6 minutes
- Isaac Bonga: 0 minutes
The Raptors have to give Barnes as much playing time as possible. This team has placed a ton of responsibility on his broad shoulders, and letting him figure out how he can start taking games over more consistently should be one of the main goals this year. If he keeps scoring like this, it’ll be impossible to take minutes off of his plate.
Anunoby is dealing with a bum hip at the moment, but he should still be given as many minutes as he can handle. Anunoby’s defense has not only become integral to what this team wants schematically, but his offensive stylings have been genuinely impressive.
The Toronto Raptors need to give Scottie Barnes a long leash.
Even though Watanabe may not be the most dominant offensive player, his defensive energy and above-average spot-up shooting make him worthy of extended bench minutes. Mykhailiuk’s defense may be poor, but on a team without great shooters, he needs to play a bit every game.
If Isaac Bonga shows enough promise, why not throw him out there now and again to see what he can do? This unit might be the most integral to this team’s success. If Anunoby and Barnes are both hitting shots at the same time, Toronto could replicate some of that early-season magic.
