1. Backup Big Man: Chris Boucher vs. Precious Achiuwa

It would be easy to make the case that the two most disappointing players for the Raptors this season have been an impending free agent in Boucher and an ultra-raw rim-runner in Achiuwa. Neither of them is providing Toronto with a ton of quality production on the offensive end.

While Boucher went from an expert 3-point shooter to a major liability, Achiuwa’s ability to finish inside has been pitiful at times. Most of Achiuwa’s shots come right near the rim, yet he is shooting under 40% from the floor. When Khem Birch is healthy again, one of these players will lose minutes.

Chris Boucher, Precious Achiuwa have disappointed the Toronto Raptors.

Birch and Pascal Siakam are integral to this rotation, meaning one of either Achiuwa or Boucher could be on the chopping block. Boucher gives you more experience and offensive potential, but he is mired in a long slump. Achiuwa has more potential on defense and athleticism, but his offense has been putrid.

Considering the fact Nurse has already benched Boucher and started Achiuwa when Birch has been out, the skinny Canadian seems to be at greater risk of losing minutes. However, if the Boucher we saw last year wakes up, the narrative could be flipped around.
