1. Don’t be afraid of the 10-day guys

The Raptors brought in DJ Wilson, Juwan Morgan, Tremont Waters, and Daniel Oturu on 10-day contracts. While some of the players put together subpar performances, that shouldn’t necessarily mean that Toronto should just tell them to stand in the corner and do nothing.

Every one of these players brings something new to the table. Waters brings defensive hustle and passing, while Morgan is a very Raptors-esque versatile piece. Oturu is a promising long-limbed rebounder and Wilson was able to make an impact in the paint on both ends against Cleveland.

The Toronto Raptors shouldn’t be afraid of their replacement players.

With one open roster spot, Toronto wouldn’t be misguided if they treated these games as 48-minute exhibitions in which all of these temporary Band-Aids strut their stuff and campaign for a roster spot. It should surprise no one if one of these players gets a second 10-day.

The odds of them winning without so many impact players are low, so why not give these guys a chance to shine? Perhaps one or two of them has a breakout game and makes it very tough for Toronto to let them go back into the free-for-all that is the G League.
