2022 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Who will the Toronto Raptors take?
By Mike Luciano
The Knicks have seen Kemba Walker vacillate between offensive savior and unplayable. They need some clarity at the point guard position, and they could get that if they add someone like Chandler, who profiles as a quality scorer and pestilent defender in the NBA.
The biggest concern around Chandler is his size, as he is listed at 6-0 even and 171 pounds on a good day. If the Knicks either commit to beefing him up or make their peace with that issue, they could draft an above-average shooter and quality playmaker with room to grow as an athlete.
Drafting someone from a startup league with only a modicum of experience on a European reserve team is a risky move, but you rarely get the chance to draft a player with game-breaking speed and athletic ability at this point in the draft. Boston would do wise to add Montero.
While Boston isn’t in dire need of a new point guard, they could stand to add a new contributor at the position. Montero will need a ton of work before he’s ready for prime time, but he has the skills to eventually become a starter in this league for a long while.
NBA Mock Draft: Caleb Houstan could change the Mavericks.
Houstan is starting to warm up after a slow start, as the elite shooting and raw talent that enticed every college program in the country is starting to re-emerge. Dallas would be wise to take him on with the goal of getting a true small forward with a high offensive ceiling.
Houstan profiles as a player that can be a quality offensive presence without eating up tons of touches or offensive attention. This makes him ideal for a team that is married to Luka Doncic and Kristpas Porzingis for the foreseeable future.
