Cons

Burks is still making just 36% of his 2-pointers, which is one of the worst marks of any guard in the game. Burks is also coming to town with an eight-figure contract that locks him in for next year as well. If he doesn’t hit the ground running, Toronto may have another albatross on their hands.

Dragic would make the money match up and help the Knicks add a better player with more pedigree, but Dragic still might not join this team. If he is set on winning a championship, a team that ranks as even worse than the Raptors likely won’t help him get back to work.

The Toronto Raptors might need to give up draft picks for Alec Burks.

The Raptors could need to attach a draft pick to get away from Dragic’s deal, but Ujiri should exhaust every option outside of that before he decides to give up a pick. Parting with draft capital in the middle of a supposed youth movement in order to acquire…Burks might not be wise.

The Raptors shouldn’t make a trade unless they are absolutely sure that they can acquire a contributor for this year and the next. Burks can snipe, but taking him on while giving away a top pick could have Toronto on the short end of the stick if he doesn’t improve his finishing.
