The Toronto Raptors saw their eight-game winning streak snapped, as Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets were just too much to handle. Luckily for Nick Nurse and the rest of the team, the most recent Raptors odds have them positioned as the favorite despite a road matchup against a hot team.

The New Orleans Pelicans, fresh off making a huge trade for former Blazers guard CJ McCollum, will welcome the squad to Louisiana. Toronto already beat them once in January thanks to a near triple-double from Pascal Siakam and 32 points from All-Star point guard Fred VanVleet.

The Pelicans have been playing .500 basketball after a putrid start, and they currently occupy a play-in spot in the Western Conference. Even without Zion Williamson healthy, a team led by McCollum, Brandon Ingram, and Jonas Valanciunas is nothing to sneeze at.

Will Toronto get back on the right track and start a new streak? Will they limp into the All-Star break with two losses in a row against some foes from the Western Conference?

New Orleans Pelicans vs Toronto Raptors Odds, Spread, Over/Under

The latest odds from WynnBET have Toronto as -5.0 favorites against the spread, with this squad -110 (bet $110 to win $100) to cover. Toronto is -190 on the moneyline, while New Orleans checks at +155 (bet $100 to win $155).

The over-under in this contest is 223.0, with the under coming in at -110 and the over listed at -110. Expect a McCollum-Fred VanVleet shootout in this one.

Toronto Raptors vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction

Toronto’s invincibility is now officially gone after the Denver loss, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be feared. With Siakam playing the best basketball of his career lately, that alone will be enough to keep Toronto in this game despite New Orleans playing some solid ball lately.

The Pelicans will put forth a spirited effort, especially now that adding McCollum gives them their best backcourt scorer in years. However, if Toronto manages to get hot from 3-point range early in this game, that could be enough to seal the deal and take home a win.
