1. His role on the team

Allen is playing his role perfectly in Cleveland, but Siakam is being asked to do more on a game-to-game basis. While big names like Evan Mobley and Darius Garland can help Allen go into games as the third scoring option every now and again, Siakam has to team with VanVleet and carry this team to victory night in and night out.

Allen’s play has helped the Cavs become a borderline contender, but he isn’t being asked to be both a secondary ball-handler, offensive creator, defensive stalwart, and preferred interior scoring option every single night as a result of some questionable roster construction.

Toronto Raptors: Pascal Siakam has been carrying this team.

Any random Raptors game will show you how much Siakam means to this team. Need him to shoot from deep? No problem. How about scoring 30 in the paint while maintaining an efficient field goal percentage? Sure. Can he get 10 assists and challenge for a triple-double? You know he can.

When two players have similar statistical achievements, their value might play a part in selecting a winner. While Allen is on a better Cavaliers team, Siakam does so much for a Toronto team smashing even the loftiest expectations from the preseason.
