2. Vince Carter’s solid All-Star Game, 2001

While Carter is known for a certain performance in Oakland that may be coming up later on this list, he was just as effective in the actual game. In an All-Star that featured two Raptors starters thanks to Antonio Davis, Carter did his best to exhibit why he was borderline unstoppable in his prime.

Carter ended up with 16 points, second only to Allen Iverson’s 25. The East ended up pulling out a one-point win, and Carter’s showing what one of the main reasons why. A trademark 360 dunk from the baseline made sure that Carter left the night with another tremendous dunk added to his resume.

Toronto Raptors star Vince Carter put on a show.

Before the league’s more successful Elam Ending format and the early 2010s games where they didn’t even pretend to play a real game of basketball, these early 2000s contests featured some very competitive defense and high-energy play. The East needed every single one of Carter’s 16 points.

While Lowry’s hot shooting in 2017 deserves some consideration, the fact that the game ended 192-182 takes some of the significance out of an individual offensive showing. Carter might still have some older Raptors fans who don’t care for him, but he played a big part in putting this franchise on the map.
