3 Canadians for Toronto Raptors fans to watch in March Madness

Bennedict Mathurin
Mathurin is only coming to the Raptors if they pull off an earth-shattering trade and get a lottery pick. Still, nothing is off the table with Ujiri at the helm.
A great athlete on the wing at 6-7, Mathurin’s sensational sophomore year at Arizona has seen his role increase and his numbers boom for his team. A shoo-in to declare, Mathurin is knocking on the door of the Top 10.
Mathurin’s body is a sure thing for a shooting guard. Chiseled with great end-to-end speed, he’s been asked to pick up something of a combo-guard job for Arizona this season. He has the green light to run the ball or the play in the half-court, but that doesn’t mean he’s a black hole out there.
He’s perfectly comfortable playing off-ball, cutting and spotting up around the perimeter. This on/off ball versatility will serve him well at the next level.
Montreal’s Bennedict Mathurin checks so many boxes
He has a developing offensive game creating for himself and others, but his baseline of ability is too high for him to fail. He shoots a strong percentage both from three and from the free-throw line, he has good accuracy on his passes, and he’s not afraid to attack the rim.
The next step for Mathurin as a complete offensive force is his ball-handling. He doesn’t create a lot of space with his handle and is usually attacking the rim in straight lines. Continuing to expand his creativity on-ball will take him from a valuable piece to a potential star.
