The Toronto Raptors endured plenty of difficult seasons on their way to a 2019 title, and Masai Ujiri needed to make insane moves like trading DeMar DeRozan to fully equip this team. All of those sacrifices were worth it in the end, as Toronto ended the Golden State dynasty by beating the Warriors in 2019.

While Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry slipped rings on their finger, plenty of former Raptors who built the foundation that Ujiri sprung off from ended up being jettisoned to make way for these new additions. They may have had individual success with the Raptors, but they remain ringless after all these years.

Toronto is currently the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. While they should be able to give whoever they match up against some fits, the odds of making a run to the NBA Finals are minimal. Fans might need to pick up a different rooting interest if Toronto gets knocked out.

These 3 former Raptors players have legitimate chances at getting their first championships in 2022. While some were early Ujiri signings and some were more recently acquired fill-ins, Toronto could have some solid rooting interests if they are knocked out of the postseason early.

3. Bismack Biyombo, Phoenix Suns

Biyombo had to wait quite a while before finding a destination in 2022, as he was one of the dozens of players that signed 10-day contracts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Biyombo quickly proved his worth by averaging 6.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game off the bench.

While not the most jaw-dropping offensive player, Biyombo is going to give it his all in the paint and work to secure the glass on both sides. Raptors fans know this all too well, as his 8.0 rebounds per game during the 2015-16 season remain the highest total he has ever amassed in the NBA.

Toronto Raptors: Can Bismack Biyombo win with the Suns?

Even though Chris Paul is hurt, Phoenix might have the best chance of anyone when it comes to getting a ring. Devin Booker has them at the top of the West after they have blitzed through several potential contenders that could’ve challenged them. Biyombo is getting some serious minutes on this team.

Biyombo deserves everything good coming his way. On top of the fact he suffered through some very tough seasons in Charlotte and Orlando, he announced that he will donate his salary to relief efforts in his native Democratic Republic of the Congo. Phoenix gives him a good chance to fulfill that dream.
