Villanova: Collin Gillespie

The Wildcats went most of the year without that one standout player who makes NBA scouts start drooling, but Gillespie has been consistent enough as a performer over the last few years to warrant some NBA consideration. Gillespie has been ultra-consistent over his five-year career.

Gillespie has four straight seasons of double-digit scoring and a national championship under his belt. Gillespie is a 38% shooter on over five attempts per game, which could help him fit in on a Raptors team that still needs some extra shooters alongside Fred VanVleet.

Collin Gillespie would bring experience to the Toronto Raptors.

Just an average athlete, Gillespie is not someone that is going to profile as either a switchable defender or on-ball standout. Gillespie is going to be 23 when he entered the NBA and has some injuries in his history, so there are some worries when it comes to how quickly he can reach his full potential.

Part of the reason that Toronto picked Dalano Banton over many more experienced scorers was the fact they were wowed by his defensive potential. The Raptors would need to eschew those potential worries if they want to make Gillespie a member of their bench.
