2. Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics

Even though Brown is the second option behind Jayson Tatum on a very talented Celtics team, he’s managed to outscore Siakam this season (23.4 points per game vs. 22.5) while playing some solid on-ball defense. Those numbers still don’t match up well against Siakam.

Siakam holds the advantage over Brown in rebounds per game, assists per game, player efficiency rating, and offensive rating. With their scoring numbers identical and both players grading out as solid defenders, Pascal’s playmaking and efficiency might be his ticket to NBA notoriety.

Toronto Raptors: Pascal Siakam, Jaylen Brown are having good seasons.

Brown might win out with the voters by playing on a gold star franchise and helping that team catch fire in the second half. Brown’s defense makes him a worthy adversary for Siakam, but Pascal playing the best basketball of his career while making just under half of his shots needs to count for something.

Brown might be able to sneak onto the third team as a guard considering how he’s been seeing a lot of time there lately. However, if the voters identify him as a forward given his total minutes distribution, that could put him in confrontation with Siakam. Based on the stats, he’ll lose that fight.
